We need love more than we need heroes. While we express ourselves in everyday life, we need to experience a different kind of look that is more human than we are human.

We need to be positively recognized while operating in the world (e.g. playing, singing, composing new rhymes.

But we can be looked at in an incomprehensible (if not experienced) new way only by those who have a big and indomitable heart and beautiful clear eyes.

Angiolino is not alone; he is as he is thanks to the relationship with his wife, who is also great at facing reality and is in her own way struck by things.

Angiolino (Paolo Conte)

If you understood the look he looks at us with

While we are playing

And from the harbor of his heart a cargo boat

In the evening sets sail.

He really has beautiful eagle eyes

Our friend Angiolino

And every time he gives us a nice cookie

Our friend Angiolino.

Our friend Angiolino…

He has a wife that is all blonde and all beautiful

Our friend Angiolino

And every time she gives us a fritter

With apples and wine.

We play and stir up feelings

And feelings go away

And get entangled in the blonde hair

Of Angiolino’s wife.

LP: “Un gelato al limon”, 1979 – 3’40” – Written by: P. Conte.

Se capiste con che sguardo lui ci guarda

Mentre noi stiamo suonando

Noi suoniamo e suscitiamo sentimenti

E i sentimenti se ne vanno

A impigliarsi nei capelli tutti biondi

Della moglie di Angiolino.
